Clearwater, FL – August 12, 2025 – After 35 years of dedicated, if at times temperamentally unpredictable, service, the legendary vehicle wrap laminator at Sign-Age is finally hanging up its heat rollers and retiring to a well-deserved, quiet existence. This momentous occasion marks the end of an era, as the machine, affectionately (or perhaps, begrudgingly) known as "The Beast," has been a staple of the company's production floor for 25 Years!

The Beast joined the Sign-Age family back in 2000, a fresh-faced piece of machinery brimming with laminating ambitions bought right off the tradeshow floor. Over the decades, it has diligently pressed laminating material on countless yards of vinyl, ensuring the impeccable adherence of vehicle wraps to a diverse range of vehicles, from the smallest wraps on golf carts to the most imposing and dreaded yellow school bus. "It did its job and continues to do its job, but it has now reached a point where it earned the title of ‘Retired,’" remarked a company spokesperson, eyes twinkling with a hint of fatigue.

While its unwavering dedication to the craft is undeniable, The Beast wasn't without its quirks. Its temperamental behavior at times often required a delicate touch. The tendency to develop a mind of its own regarding roller pressure provided opportunities to hone troubleshooting skills. "Triumphs were celebrated, and tantrums were survived," said Adam, long-time employee and veteran of the laminating wars. "A stronger appreciation for patience developed … and perhaps a few grey hairs."

The Beast played an integral role in Sign-Age's success and growth. It was a workhorse, a testament to enduring technology, and a constant source of conversational fodder. "It's heard more company secrets than a gossipy water cooler," stated one employee.

Details regarding its replacement are still under wraps. Sources suggest the new machine promises to be less opinionated about its workflow. The entire team at Sign-Age wishes The Beast a blissful retirement filled with rest, the absence of vinyl dust, and perhaps a well-deserved soak in a tub of lubricating oil.
